HIV vaccine is successful in study using monkeys
Harvard University scientists developed a vaccine that resulted in 80% reduction in the chance of HIV-related infection. The study, carried out on rhesus monkeys, is unique because researchers challenged them with a virulent HIV-related virus to closely simulate infection with HIV.
