After the great success of the first Inhibitor Summit, the EHC was excited to organise the second edition. Once again, the event was held in Barretstown, Ireland, from Thursday 30 November until Sunday 3 December.

Similarly to 2016, the Inhibitor Summit 2017 brought together over 110 participants, speakers and facilitators from 27 European countries. Participants included adults, children, patients, partners, siblings and relevant experts – allowing the group to learn, share and enjoy the community spirit that is becoming evident within this group!

The programme of the Inhibitor Summit consisted of both informational and practical workshops. An important part of the programme will always be dedicated to peer-to-peer sessions and exchange between the participants.

The programme also accommodated a variety of needs:

  • Russian interpretation was available for the members of the Russian-speaking members of the community.
  • Special activity programmes designed for children and teenagers, with the necessary language support provided by the volunteers of the respective NMOs.
  • Socialising and evening programmes.

In addition, the winner of the “Inhibitor Superhero” competition was announced at the end of the Summit!

The Summit was made possible thanks to educational grants from Alnylam, Roche and Shire.

The purpose of the EHC Inhibitor Summits is to offer a special time and space for people with haemophilia who have inhibitors, as well as their family members and caregivers, to build a community, educate and empower themselves and to improve the quality of their lives. In addition, the Summit offers a possibility to spend time in a relaxing environment and to enjoy the activities together.
