Launch of the EHC survey results-12 Jauary 2006

On 12 January 2006, the European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) together with Dr Miroslav Mikolasik, Member of the European Parliament, organised an event in the European Parliament launching the results of an EHC Survey carried out in 2005. The results were presented in a report Haemophilia Awareness and Disparity of Care within the EU.

Over 75 participants attended the event, coming from a variety of backgrounds ranging from the patient community, the medical profession, the industry, the European Parliament, the European Commission, to NGOs, providing testimony to the interest that exist in the topic and the need to raise awareness of haemophilia as a disease and the disparity of care that exists within Europe.

The event provided a unique opportunity for haemophilia patients and the medical community to share experiences and discuss with policy makers how challenges that are being faced by both medical professionals and patients with haemophilia can be addressed successfully and efficiently.
