Ovi geni kodiraju skupinu povezanih proteina koji se normalno nalaze na povr\u0161ini trombocita, receptor za glikoprotein IIb\/IIIa (tako\u0111er nazvan receptor fibrinogena). Budu\u0107i da ovaj receptor nije prisutan ili ne radi ispravno, trombociti se ne lijepe jedni za druge na mjestu ozljede i te\u0161ko je formirati normalan krvni ugru\u0161ak.
