Big election day at the EHC Conference 2024: all you have to know about it

The European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) held its annual General Assembly (GA) during the EHC Conference 2024 in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 4 to 6 October.

The GA took place on 4 October, late afternoon, featuring EHC National Member Organisation (NMO) delegates ready to elect the next EHC Steering Committee and choose the venue for the EHC Conference in 2026.

As new Steering Committee members, the GA chose:

Panagiotis Christoforou (Greece), elected for 5 years;
Tatjana Markovic (Serbia), elected for 4 years;
William McKeown (UK), elected for 5 years;
Augustas Nedzinskas (Lithuania), elected for 4 years;
Jamie O’Hara (UK), elected for 5 years;
Amy Owen-Wyard (UK), elected for 4 years;
Laura Quintas Lorenzo (Spain), elected as the new EHC Treasurer for 2 years.

Lastly, the GA had to choose between Baku (Azerbaijan) and Istanbul (Türkiye) as venue of the EHC Conference 2026 – and Istanbul was the winner. The Türkiye Hemofili Derneği, our Turkish NMO, will be the host.
