The EHC held its second HTA and Economics Workshop on 19-21 September in Riga, Latvia.
Ten patient representatives from ten countries came together to further develop their knowledge and understanding of Health Technology Assessments (HTA) and how patients’ organisation can influence their outcomes.
The workshop consisted of a series of lectures provided by a health economist, patient representatives and industry representatives as well as a series of case studies and role-plays. Participants learned more about the basic principles of health economy and their current application at EU and national level.
Overall the workshop was very successful with participants feeling ready to pass on the learned messages within their national organisations.
You can read a report on the 2014 HTA and Economics Workshop in the EHC Newsletter from December 2014.
A first edition of this workshop was organised in London in 2013.
The next edition of this workshop will be organised on 11-13 September 2015 in St Petersburg, Russian Federation. The event will be held in Russian with English translation.
